Hi Reader,
I'm so glad you're here.
If we haven't met yet, I'm Nattiel. A little over a year ago, my husband and I sold our businesses, packed up our two girls, and moved from Denver to a small town in Tuscany. On paper, it looked brave. In real life, it came after some of the hardest years we've ever lived — grief, burnout, and a quiet voice that kept whispering this isn't the life you're meant for.
For a long time, I ignored that voice. I worked harder. I told myself I had everything I was supposed to want. And still, something ached.
So this is the letter where I tell you the truth: I don't have it all figured out. What I have is a deep, stubborn belief that you're allowed to change everything, and a town in Italy that gave me back to myself when I'd almost forgotten who that was.
That's what this newsletter is. Not a highlight reel. The real version.
Here's what you can expect from me:
- The honest story of building a life abroad. The beautiful parts and the messy middle
- What it actually takes (and costs) to start over
- Small, real moments from our days here in Tuscany
- Every now and then, something useful, like the Red Flag Checklist, if you're dreaming of buying in Italy yourself
I won't clog your inbox, and I won't pretend. That's the deal.
One thing before you go: I'd love to actually know you. Hit reply and tell me how you found me, and if there's something you're quietly wondering about (the move, the kids, the money, the loneliness, any of it). I read every single one.
Here's to the lives we're brave enough to build.
Home isn't a place, it's a pace. 🤍
Nattiel
